Harworth Colliery
The Group continues to explore the viability and funding of reopening the Harworth colliery at some time in the future where there is an estimated 54 million tonnes of resources. Exceptional costs of £3.5 million were incurred in 2008 in the care and maintenance of the mine, and included preliminary geological and seismic work to assess the viability of reopening it.
