UK COAL sells approximately three hundred thousand tonnes a year of bituminous large coal throughout the United Kingdom through its Coal4Energy subsidiary joint venture company. The coal is sold to merchants who then retail it on to the householder for use in domestic appliances.
Products for the domestic market consist of a range of good quality graded coals capable of being burnt in open fires.
Coal4Energy offer considerable support to the distributive trade and to the organisations which support and promote the use of solid fuel in the home, e.g. Solid Fuel Association and the Approved Coal Merchants Scheme.
