UK COAL sells over 0.10 million tonnes of coal a year to industry through Coal4Energy, a joint venture company established with Hargreaves Services in 2006, but in which it disposed of its 50 per cent stake in January 2009. The fuel is used in direct fired applications such as in the manufacture of cement, raising steam for a wide variety of process uses, and in steam and hot water systems to provide space heating for many different types of building. UK COAL's fuel is also used in the manufacture of smokeless fuels such as Sunbrite.
