The EC Large Combustion Plants Directive (LCPD) places limits on the emissions of sulphur dioxide, oxides of nitrogen and particulates (dust) from the combustion of coal, oil and natural gas.
The UK Government has two options for implementation. UK COAL is active in a concerted lobbying campaign for the Emission Limit Value (ELV) approach rather than a National Emissions Reduction Plan (NERP). UK COAL supports the position taken by The Confederation of UK COAL Producers (COALPRO) on this issue.
