Oxcroft Restoration - view from M1 Motorway
Oxcroft Disposal Point occupies land to the east of the M1 motorway near the village of Shuttlewood Common in Derbyshire.
Planning permission was granted by Derbyshire County Council in March 2007 to recover coal from a former stocking ground on the western side of Oxcroft Disposal Point.
Operations to recover 15,000 tonnes of coal from the 9 hectare site began in 2007 and were completed within 4 months. Following extraction operations the area was returned to species rich grassland.
