Key performance indicators (KPIs)

Safely miningUK Coal is proactive in its behavioural safety techniques. Safety observations, near-hit reporting, ‘take five’ on the job assessments and toolbox talks are key safety tools that are used and measured across the organisation.

Reactive indicators for all categories of accident and incident are monitored and analysed. UK Coal, in its endeavours to achieve Zero Repeats, considers incident investigation and incident analysis a key tool to manage Safety and Health.

The industry has many Major Hazards to assess and manage. A key management tool is the monitoring of pre cursors and indicators to high hazard events.
