This 322 hectare site was granted planning permission in 2001 for the recovery of 900,000 tonnes by surface mining methods. Operations on site commenced in 2006 and are expected to last for approximately 4 years.
The restoration scheme provides for the creation of over 100 hectares of amenity woodland and wetlands as well as for an area of industrial development.
