Broughton Lodge
Harworth Power has been assessing the suitability of the former surface mining at Broughton Lodge for a wind farm for a number of years. Activities to date have included some high level consultation with some the statutory bodies in order to understand their views and undertaken some initial survey work on the site.
An application has been made to Allerdale Borough Council for a wind data mast, the decision on this is expected in early 2008. In the event of a positive decision on planning we intend to install the mast as soon as possible afterwards.
Following the installation of the mast we then intend to commence preparation of the Environmental Statement to support an application for the wind farm. As part of this exercise we are committed to undertaking a consultation exercise with both the statutory consultees and the local population to understand their views of the proposal.
