Royal Oak
As part of a joint venture with EDF Energy, Harworth Power has been granted permission by Darlington Borough Council to erect its first wind farm at the company's Royal Oak site in County Durham.
The wind farm, which will consist of a total of five turbines each producing around 1.3 MW, is to be built on land formerly part of the UK Coal Southfield surface mine.
Construction on the site is due to commence in the near future once tendering has been completed for the project.
